The Counter-Strike

September 27th, 2006 by defeatthewatermelonfortheshoppeismyne in Uncategorized · No Comments

The terrorist group Malibu Men was attempting an attack on the Middle Eastern site called Dust2. The terrorists are planning to bomb at least one of two sites, in doing so destroying an ancient preserve.

A Counter-Terrorism team (Spetsnaz) has been dispatched in the area and are working to stop the Malibu Men from bombing this ancient preserve. They spawned I mean landed and went off the counter the terrorist attack. Our force included me, Dr. Consoh Uberpathen, Brendan Olger, Samuel Gahth and Anto Bogiono. The assault started and we split 2-2. Samuel and I went to camp in bombsite A and Brendan and Anto went to A long. The terrorists were not coming. We all sat there as tense as fish. “The bomb has been planted” the screen said. We knew it must of been in bombsite B. We wondered how they knew that we were here as our spies  guaranteed us that they would be going to A. We split 2-2 again and took seperate ways to bombsite B. Samuel and I were going straight through when we heard shots. We had lost contact with Anto. Brendan was a double CT. We now had to be careful for terrorists, Brendan and defusing the bomb. We carefully approached the bombsite. We threw in a flash bang grenade and rushed in. There were terrorists everywhere. We managed to get rid of a few then we ran back out. Samuel threw a grenade in and got rid of the rest. We hurridly ran in and I started to defuse the bomb which was going to go off soon. I was nervously defusing when i heard more shots which froze my heart. I lost radio contact with Samuel. It must’ve been Brendan. He tried to jump me but I quickly pulled my knife on him and he died. I then pointed out some sort of irony in a witty manner. There was next to no time and I jumped to defuse the bomb. It went fine. In the helicopter I thought about how I lost my whole team that day and some of my closest friends. It was a terrible loss but it was all for the best.

I refuse to acknowledge the co-incidental similarities to the game Counter-Strike.

Bats Make Me Crazy

September 27th, 2006 by defeatthewatermelonfortheshoppeismyne in Uncategorized · No Comments

The Carlingford Highschool drama and dance group put on a matinee presentation which we were given the opportunity to see. It was very enjoyable to watch and was filled with great performances.

One performance was a drama presentation called Bats Make Me Crazy. I liked this one because of the story. It was about toys who are scared of being put in “the box” which is a very dark box where toys go when they’re not wanted any more. Barbie has fallen in and immedietley the other toys go to the rescue of Barbie. The clown however has a secret plan to put all of the toys in “the box”. I liked watching this one and it was very well acted.

It was overall a very enjoyable Dance and Drama presentation.

THE PENTAGON IMPACT ONLY KILLED FEW PEOPLE AND INJURED MANY, ONLY A SECTION OF THE BUILDING WAS DESTROYED. THE FOURTH PLANE HAD FAILED TO COMPLETE ITS ATTACK AS PASSENGERS ON THE PLANE TOOK BACK CONTROL OF THE PLANE BUT FAILED TO LAND SAFELY AND CRASHED. THE NEWS OF THE ATTACKS WERE DEVASTATING AND WERE HEARD AROUND THE WORLD. THE ATTACKS BY AL QUAEDA ON 9/11 WERE ONE OF THE WORLDS HUGEST DISASTERS IN HISTORY.

St Patricks Day

August 2nd, 2006 by defeatthewatermelonfortheshoppeismyne in Uncategorized · No Comments

St Patricks day originated with a soon to be saint Maewyn who was born in Ireland in AD 385. Maewyn missed the job of bishop in Ireland because he lacked scholarship to obtain the job.

At the age of 16 he was put into slavery by raiders who raided his village. In captivity he got closer to God and escaped after 6 years and went to Gaul where he studdied at the Germain monestary for 12 years then he left. He wished to return to Ireland to save all the pagans who lived there. Soon after arriving he was appointed to second bishop where as bishop he won many converts succesfully.

His mission lasted for thirty years in Ireland and he died in AD 461 and from that day forward it has been commemorated as St Patricks day.

July 19th, 2006 by defeatthewatermelonfortheshoppeismyne in Uncategorized · No Comments

On the 19th of July 2006 Carlingford highschool held their International Day. The day was aimed to aknowledge the different cultures we share in our school.

The day took alot of planning by teachers students and by each culture group to plan and present a stall and performances for the day. All students were to choose a culture group and work to present for the group with decorations, performances and food.

The day went great starting with the first two periods then after recess there was an assembly and then the concert with each culture group presenting a different act or song but every culture entered in the fashion parade. After the concert every one was free to rome around the school and sample different cultures and buy food. Some cultures operated competitions and extra acts. There was alot of food and drink and the activities were many, it was a great day.

The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King

June 7th, 2006 by defeatthewatermelonfortheshoppeismyne in Uncategorized · 3 Comments

The Lord of the Rings, The Return of the King is a great supernatural movie set in the evil stricken Middle Earth. This movie is the last of the epic trilogy: The Lord of the Rings which is about Frodo Baggins, a hobbit of the Shire on a journey with his companions to destroy the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom where it was forged by the Dark Lord Sauron. Sauron was defeated a long time ago but because of the greed of men the Ring survived so Sauron survived.

Evil is again waging war on Middle Earth and the broken Fellowship of the Ring are finding it alot more difficult to accomplish their task where if failed Middle Earth will be covered with a second evil that will not be able to be undone.

The Main Characters in this movie are the Hobbits: Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin; Aragorn - a ranger but heir to the throne of Gondor, Legolas - an elf prince of Mirkwood, Gimli - a Dwarf lord and Gandalf - a powerful wizard of Middle Earth. Some other characters are The Witch King and the Ring Wraiths which are powerful servants of Sauron, Orcs which are the main force of Sauron, Theoden, Eomer and Eowyn which are lords of Rohan. The Rohirim which are good people and the men of Gondor which are also good men.

This movie in most ways are realistic but alot of the characters like dwarves, elves, hobbits, orcs, trolls, wargs and the magic and all that arent that realistic of course…This is one of my favourite movies and i reckon the cinematography was great. I reckon that  i would give this movie a 9/10 and i Recomend it to people probably 12 and up because it is a bit complicated and there is quite alot of violence and huge battle scenes.

This movie is nice.

Speech Process

May 24th, 2006 by defeatthewatermelonfortheshoppeismyne in Uncategorized · 3 Comments

When i first heard that the class was to write and present speeches I as usual felt quite nervous, picturing bad things happening to me as i present mine. I also worried that mine just might not be good enough or that i might stuff up when presenting mine. But i knew that as usual i was just going to be fine. On the day we recieved the sheet i got to work a bit after i got home that day. I started at first researching about my chosen subject which was tennis. After i had my notes and i had enought information i was ready to start writing mine on my computer. it took me about one day to finish writing my speech as i got distracted many a time. i printed it out then cut it up into palm cards. I worried more thinking more possible bad things that could happen. I practiced every day for about four days until i thought i was ready. When i finally presented my speech to the class i was relieved to find that i did quite fine although i fell short of time by three seconds.=( But after that it was all good =)

Sophie Delizio Story

May 24th, 2006 by defeatthewatermelonfortheshoppeismyne in Uncategorized · 5 Comments

In 2003 a little girl called Sophie Delizio was left in a critical condition after a careless drive ran his car into her pre school. Just recently the country was devastated to hear that little Sophie had been hit again while crossing at Fenches Forest Road at Seaforth with her caretaker.

The brave girl was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition with head, facial, chest and leg injuries. For a period of time she was on life support but now she is out of intensive care. She is expected to be leaving hospital soon.

This story about Sophie upset me to think of how a girl so young already of suffered so much and have life time damage inflicted on her strong body. Hearing her story made me think about road safety and how it might be improved.

The Easter Bunny is not real. He is an imaginary creature made up to help advertising companies sell more chocolate. The real story being covered by the Easter Bunny is that long ago the continent of America was attacked suddenly by a fleet from space under the command of killer T.V.’s from the planet Dishwasher. The T.V.’s did not have a safe place to make the dangerously addictive chocolate that was banned completely from their home planet of Dishwasher. The small fleet landed in the Southern deserts of America in a remote spot. From there they launched an assault on the state of Texas and captured a site where they made chocolate. They left the planet and in exchange for complete confidentiality of the whole matter they gave the earth the recipe for chocolate and how to make it in the form of an egg.

As something to explain to the kids to the sudden spurt of chocolate egg giving, the adults came up with a story explaining that T.V.’s handed out chocolate eggs every Easter but how they got Bunnies mixed up with T.v.’s is completely unknown

And thats the conspiracy behind the Easter bunny… Happy Easter

The Eighteenth Emergency - Betsy Byars

April 12th, 2006 by defeatthewatermelonfortheshoppeismyne in Uncategorized · 2 Comments

This story starts set in a typical suburban town in America with a boy nicknamed ‘Mouse’ and he has a bully problem. The biggest boy in the school (and probably the local highschool) is after him for writing an offensive remark on a prehistoric human poster about him. ‘Mouse’ comes into quite a few close encounters avoiding the pursuing bully but in the end must face him and he gets beaten up harshly leaving him bleeding all over his face.

I didn’t particularly enjoy this story because it did not have much of a story line. It did though have some very descriptive language and a type of sub-story with ‘Mouses’ best friend telling him about several solutions to unlikely emergencies.
